Quality Thermistors and Probes

A thermistor, or thermally sensitive resistor, is a resistor which changes resistance in response to a change in temperature. There are two basic types of thermistors, NTC or Negative Temperature Coefficient and PTC or Positive Temperature Coefficient thermistors. NTC thermistors exhibit a decrease in resistance when temperature rises. PTC thermistors exhibit an increase in resistance when temperature rises. QTI manufacturers both PTC and NTC thermistors in a broad selection of package styles and resistance values.

Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistors

Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistors exhibit decreasing electrical resistance with increases in environmental temperature and increasing electrical resistance with decreasing temperature.

Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistors

Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistors exhibit increasing electrical resistance with increases in environmental temperature and decreasing electrical resistance with decreasing temperature.

NTC Thermistor Probes

Thermistor probes can be produced in many combinations of thermistor element, probe housing, lead configuration and connector for applications where a surface, air, gas or liquid temperature sensor probe is required.
